Terms of use

1. Who we are

Lovyu is a dating app provided by BE United Group, Bosnjak, Alte Aach 1, 8599 Salmsach, Switzerland (VAT CHE-458.822.837 MWST), reachable at info@pixify.ch. By creating an account you accept these terms.

2. Who may use Lovyu

3. Your account

You sign in with your email address and a code we send you. Your details must be true: your name and age are your own, and your main photo shows you. Your date of birth cannot be changed after sign-up; if you made a typo, our support will help. Keep access to your email address safe – whoever has it can sign in to Lovyu.

4. Your content

Your photos, answers and messages remain yours. You allow us to show them to other people in Lovyu as far as the app requires (your profile in suggestions, your messages to your match). This permission ends when you delete the content or your account. Only upload content you hold the rights to and that follows the community guidelines.

5. Review and moderation

New photos are first checked by a program; anything it cannot judge with certainty is reviewed by a human (see the privacy policy, section 2). Others only see a photo once it has been approved. If we remove a photo because it breaks the community guidelines, we tell you why and give you a warning; if a photo breaks them a second time within 12 months with nudity or violence, we hide your profile until moderation has reviewed it. We usually review reports within 24 hours. If content or behaviour breaks these terms or the community guidelines, we may remove the content, hide the profile or ban the account. For banned accounts we remember the email address, the app installation and the photos (only as checksums, 5 years) and the internet connection (30 days), so that simply creating a new account does not work. We do not accept disposable email addresses for new accounts. If life or limb is at risk or a serious crime is suspected, we contact the authorities.

6. What Lovyu does not promise

We bring people together but promise neither matches nor a relationship. We check neither the identity nor the background of people on Lovyu. The «verified» badge only means that a selfie with a gesture matched the profile photos. What you write to others and whether and where you meet is your decision – please read the safety tips.

7. Liability

We run Lovyu with care but cannot guarantee that it is always available. We are not liable for the behaviour of other people. As far as the law permits, we are only liable for damage we caused intentionally or through gross negligence. Mandatory statutory liability, in particular for personal injury, remains reserved.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time: in the app under Settings → Delete account, or at https://lovyu.app/seiten/konto-loeschen.php. Cancel a running subscription separately in the App Store or on Google Play – deleting the app or the account does not end it.

9. Changes

If we change these terms significantly, we tell you in the app at least 30 days before. If you keep using Lovyu afterwards, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account and cancel a subscription in the store before then. If we shut Lovyu down, we also tell you at least 30 days before.

10. Law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is the provider's registered office. As a consumer you can also sue at your place of residence, and we only sue you there (Art. 32 Swiss Civil Procedure Code).

Subscriptions and roses

Free

With Lovyu for free you get 10 likes per day (renewed at midnight, Swiss time) and 1 rose per week (renewed on Monday). Matches and chats are unlimited. Unused free likes and roses do not carry over. New accounts get 5 likes in their first 24 hours until they are verified.

Lovyu+ and Lovyu Premium

«Unlimited» means up to 300 likes per day – this limit protects against automated accounts. As long as your profile is not verified, it is at most 50 per day (5 in the first 24 hours). You can get verified at any time in the app with a selfie.

Purchase, term and renewal

Subscriptions are available for 1 week, 1 month, 3 months or 6 months. The app shows you the price before you buy, as provided by the App Store or Google Play for your country (in Switzerland in CHF incl. VAT). You buy and pay through your Apple or Google account; their terms apply to the payment. The subscription renews automatically for the same term unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel at any time in your Apple or Google account settings (in Lovyu: Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription). It then runs until the end of the paid period.

Roses

A rose shows that someone really interests you: your like is shown at the very top. You can buy roses in packs. Purchased roses do not expire, but they have no cash value, cannot be transferred or paid out, and are lost when you delete your account. Your free roses of the week are used first, then the purchased ones.

Refunds

Apple or Google decide on refunds according to their rules; you request them there. If the store refunds a purchase, we remove the corresponding roses or subscription. We do not refund partially used periods ourselves.

On a new device

Your subscription is linked to your Lovyu account and your store account. On a new device, sign in with the same email address and tap «Restore purchases» if needed.

Privacy policy

1. Controller

BE United Group, Bosnjak, Alte Aach 1, 8599 Salmsach, Switzerland – info@pixify.ch. This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the Data Protection Ordinance (DPO). Lovyu is only intended for people in Switzerland.

2. What data we process

3. Sensitive personal data

Who you want to see and your gender may reveal your sexual orientation and intimate life; photos may reveal origin or religion. This is sensitive personal data (Art. 5 let. c FADP). We only process it because you explicitly consented at sign-up, and only so that Lovyu works. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account.

4. Purposes

To suggest profiles to you and show you to others, to enable matches and chats, to notify you about new likes, matches and messages (if you allow it), to unlock subscriptions and roses, to review photos and reports, to prevent abuse (e.g. a notice by email and notification when your account signs in on another device), to answer your requests and to meet legal obligations.

No ads, no tracking: Lovyu contains no advertising, no analytics or advertising services and no third-party fonts or scripts. We do not sell data.

The website https://lovyu.app loads nothing from other servers and sets no cookies – except «Delete account», where a technically necessary session cookie holds the steps together; it expires when you close the browser. Otherwise a visit leaves only the usual server logs at our host.

5. How suggestions are made

A program selects the profiles you see based on your and their details (gender, age, radius). The order depends on distance, recent activity, whether someone already likes you, and the subscription: people with Lovyu Premium are shown more often. A program may approve or reject new photos automatically and give you a warning. At the second warning for nudity or violence within 12 months it temporarily hides your profile, as it does with an account that sends links or requests for money in several chats (section 2). If you want a human to review such a decision, write to info@pixify.ch; moderation reviews a temporarily hidden account in any case. Bans are always decided by a human.

6. Who receives data

Abroad, data thus goes to Germany, Cyprus, Ireland and the USA. The Swiss Federal Council has recognised Germany, Cyprus and Ireland as providing adequate data protection (Annex 1 DPO). For the USA this applies to companies certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (since 15 September 2024); otherwise the disclosure is based on standard contractual clauses recognised by the FDPIC (Art. 16(2)(d) FADP). With Anthropic these clauses are part of our contract.

7. How long

8. Security

The connection is encrypted (HTTPS). Messages, comments on likes, reports and selfies are additionally stored encrypted. We re-save photos without metadata such as the location where they were taken, outside the public part of the server; they can only be retrieved through time-limited links. Only moderation has access to photos under review and to reports. If you report someone you have a match with, moderation also sees the last 60 messages of your chat to review the report; if Lovyu temporarily hides an account (section 2), moderation sees its flagged messages from the last 7 days. Otherwise nobody reads your messages.

9. Your rights

You can request information about your data free of charge (we reply within 30 days), correct wrong data and have data deleted, object to processing and withdraw your consent (by deleting your account, see section 3). You get your data in a common format (JSON) in the app under Settings → Download my data (Art. 28 FADP); you can delete your account there or at https://lovyu.app/seiten/konto-loeschen.php. For anything else write to info@pixify.ch. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

10. Changes

If anything significant changes, we tell you in the app. The version on this page applies.

Community guidelines

Lovyu should be a place where people enjoy getting to know each other. That is why:

Reporting: In a profile or chat, tap the menu (…) and then «Report». The person does not learn who reported them. If you have a match, moderation sees the last 60 messages of your chat to review the report. We usually review reports within 24 hours. Depending on the case we remove content, warn or ban the account; in serious cases we inform the police.

Warnings: If we remove a photo because it breaks the rules, we tell you why in the app and give you a warning. The second time with nudity or violence within 12 months, we hide your profile until moderation has reviewed it. If you think a decision is wrong, write to us – a human will look at it.
